The Crotty Co. story began in 2009 when I decided to venture out on my own to open a new hair & tanning salon.

I always had a passion for historical buildings and the timing was just right. It was during the market crash I purchased my first foreclosed building right on Main Street in a small town called Staunton. Despite a number of people calling me crazy for undertaking such a huge project, I purchased the building. Im a rule breaker, risk taker, and a serious dream chaser! Because life is about risking everything for a dream no one can see but you, right!?  

The building was in need of some serious repairs. It was 9,000 sq ft and consisted of 6 apartments and 2 store fronts. The fist day I was handed the keys, not having the knowledge I do now, I had the water turned on. I was standing in the store front as I watched waterfalls of water rain down from the ceilings. That moment was when the learning experiences began. I never had the money to repair this building. Every hair cut I did went into restoring this beauty and the passion never stopped. Despite all the challenges life has given me, I never remember a day where i’ve given up. I've never stopped believing in hope, because miracles happen everyday....

Hence, my now husband Jeff magically appears into my life 8 months later and he had me singing holy mother of Moses!!!

Jeff is also a crazy risk taker, he was as broke as I, but was a union carpenter. We became the best of friends! People also called him crazy for quitting his job, but he knew we would grow faster and increase our income doing everything ourselves. He worked tirelessly day in and day out learning the other trades along the way, as I threw every haircutting dollar into material, he snowballed apartment after apartment growing our income & portfolio. In fact, this building used to be an old flooring store so we had to make due with what we had, and that’s where my real design skills started coming to life. 

Fast forward over a decade later, 3 beautiful kids and lots of work still ahead. We have built an empire together restoring old buildings, designing & building newly constructed luxury vacation homes and restoring faith back into communities.
